The BMO Multi-Manager team is planning a “round the World” challenge, using cars bought for no more than £750 and visiting Moscow, New York, Sydney, Houston, California, Palestine and other world cities – but not using a Passport! All of these places share their name with a town/village in the UK so this is a challenge to visit as many of these places possible over the course of three days in June 2019.
Main challenge - Friday 28 June 10am to Sunday 30 June 6pm - Approx 1800 miles
Sprint Challenge - Friday 28 June 6pm to Sunday 30 June 6pm - Approx 1200 miles
Possible pre-event barbeque / beers - Thursday 27 June 6pm
The aim is to drive around the UK to towns/villages/cities that share a name with a town/city overseas. Points will be awarded for towns visited, and any additional found on route (there are plenty). The start is provisionally Hyde Park in London with teams allowed to choose any route, with the caveat that certain destinations are compulsory
The funds we raise go directly to Great Ormond Street Hospital as part of the CASCAID campaign. CASCAID’s collective fundraising aims to provide a new cardiac catheter theatre for GOSH, which will change the lives of children with serious heart problems. GOSH is a world-leading centre of excellence for complex heart conditions, treating tiny babies only a few hours old, to children in their late teens, from all around the country. All the money raised will be used to develop a brand new, state-of-the-art facility; a vital place used to diagnose and treat children with these life-threatening conditions.
